Webs to Begin Shutting Down on June 30, 2021

When is Webs shutting down?

We had originally communicated that Webs would begin shutting down March 31st, 2021, but this has been postponed until June 30, 2021.

What if I'm paying for my Webs account?

All premium Webs customers will be migrated to the Vistaprint brand and upgraded to our latest website builder. This will include customers with paid premium packages as well as domains registered through Webs. Nothing will change within your account until our designers are ready to migrate your account even if that does not occur until after June 30, 2021. You will receive an email when the migration is ready.

Can I still use Webs for free?

You may continue to edit and publish your existing Webs free sites until June 30, 2021. After that date you will not be able to access your account and all remaining Webs free sites will be unpublished.

How will I access my account after migration?

If you already had a Vistaprint account with the same email address as on your Webs account, you will find it on the dashboard of that account under My Account > My Digital Marketing:

If you do not have an existing Vistaprint account, one will be created for you. Once the designers are ready for your site, you will receive an email with instructions on how to set your password.

How do I access the site builder after migration?

Once you log into your Vistaprint account and navigate to your Digital Dashboard, click the Edit Website button here:

Can I still log into my Webs account after migration?

Migrated sites will be deactivated on Webs and you will no longer be able to access the site builder. You will need to log into Vistaprint to update and publish your site. Please see the screenshot below for an example. Example Site 1 below has already been migrated to Vistaprint, so there is no longer an Edit Website button. Example Site 2 has not yet been migrated, so it can still be accessed.

Is there anything not being migrated?

Unfortunately we are not able to migrate the Members or Forums apps. These pages will be omitted from any sites being migrated to Vistaprint.

Any app page with Member interaction, such as the Photos App, will be migrated without these interactive features.

Will my bill change?

No, we will carry your current subscription price over with the migration. In fact, any renewal charge will appear the same on your credit card or PayPal statement as it has in the past.

Renewal confirmation emails will be sent from Vistaprint.

Will I still be able to transfer a website from one email address to another?

You can update the email address on your Vistaprint account at anytime, but you will no longer be able to move a single website from one account to another.

You may have recently received a notice that Webs is being retired and that your site is being transferred to Vistaprint. This article is provided to answer any questions you may have regarding the upgrade.

What are the new benefits and how will it help me?

Our new website builder is simpler and easier to use. You’ll have the same flexibility in design as before and updating and maintaining your website will take less time and effort. You’ll also have a mobile responsive site.

Check out a video introducing our builder here.

Will there be any point where my website is not live?

No, either your old site or your upgraded site will be live. Your visitors will be able to see your site throughout this whole process.

Will I have to pay for this upgrade?

No—this upgrade is completely free to you.

How will this affect my email account?

Your mailbox(es) will continue to operate as they always have. We will maintain your contacts and previous emails.

How will this affect my SEO?

This should not impact your SEO. We will maintain your URL, page names, image tags, and metadata.

Will my domain pointing be affected; will I have to do it again?

Your domain name will remain the same.

Can I opt out of this upgrade?

You will not be able to opt out of this upgrade. We are retiring our older website builders as part of this change and all websites must be upgraded.

I did not order a website, why am I getting this email?

Our records indicate that you currently have an active website subscription. Please contact customer care at http://members.webs.com/s/support/index if you have questions about your subscription.

I believe I should be part of the upgrade, but I haven’t heard anything.

If your site is part of the upgrade, you will be contacted in the coming months. We are upgrading our customers in waves so please stay tuned for email communication.
