Your Pages list allows you to organize your site's navigation menu (navbar) by moving pages, deleting pages, or creating new ones. You can also set pages as hidden and add applications to your site.
You can access your Pages from the top navigation menu near the Help dropdown and the Publish button.
Click through each topic for more information on how to manage your pages with the Pages list:
- Page Settings
-
When you hover on each page in your My Pages list, you will see three options: Clone Page, Page Settings and Delete Page.
Clone Page
This feature allows you to recreate a page from one of your pre-existing pages. This is useful for preserving customizations you have made to your layout, such as sidebar elements. This way you won't have to worry about recreating them from scratch.
When you click the Clone Page option, it will create a duplicate page just under the original and you can immediately start to rename the new page.
Once you're done renaming the page, click the green check and it will be added to your navigation menu.
Page Settings
From the Page Settings menu you have the following options:
- MetaTags / Description: This allows you to set meta data for your page. NOTE: Changing meta data for individual pages requires a Premium subscription.
- Password Protect: This allows you to set permissions for your page. NOTE: The Master Password option requires a Premium subscription. Click here to upgrade your site with a Premium package.
- Hide From Navbar: This allows to you set a page as "hidden." When a page is hidden, it is still published but not included as part of your site's navigation menu.
Click here for information on the Page Settings menu that is accessed from the Builder.
Delete Page
On the far right is a red X that allows you to delete a page.
When you choose to delete a page, you will see a prompt that asks if you are sure you wish to delete. Click yes to complete the action.
You also have the option of renaming your page directly in the My Pages list. Simply click the pencil icon that appears to the right of the page name to type in your new page name.
Once you type in your new page name, click the green check mark to save your changes.
WARNING: Changing the page name will also change the page URL. Anyone attempting to access the page with its old URL may encounter a "not found" page.
- Arrange Pages
-
As you are adding new pages to your website, you will notice that each page is added to the main navigation menu. You may decide that you don’t like the order of the pages, or that you want to make sub-menus (dropdowns).
Step 1: Click Pages at the top of your account to access your "My Pages" list.
Step 2: You’ll notice to the left of each page name is a handle. Click and drag the handle with your mouse to move the page up and down along the menu. Release your mouse once you’ve moved the page to the desired area in your menu.
Step 3: To commit to the changes, click the green Publish button at the top of your account. This will change how the the pages are ordered in your site's navigation menu.
- Create Sub-Menus
-
If you have created a number of pages that cannot fit into the navigation of the theme you have chosen, a menu item called "more" will be automatically created with the additional page located under a sub-menu.
If you want to create your own sub-menus or "drop-down" links, you can nest the pages from your My Pages menu.
Use your mouse to grab the handle for the item you want to nest, then move it below the item you want it to appear under and slightly the right.
This will make the item to appear as a drop-down link in the main navigation menu.
If necessary, you can nest items for an additional level.
- Add an Application
-
Applications or "apps" like Blog and Calendar work differently than normal pages, so they are added differently.
At the bottom of your Pages menu, click the Apps tab. This will bring you to the App Store.
In the App Store window, you will see three tabs:
- All Apps: this includes applications built by Webs as well as third-party providers
- Webs Apps: this tab will only list applications that were created exclusively by Webs
- Installed Apps: this tab displays applications that have already been installed on your website. Depending on what type of website you decided on when opening your account, you may already have some applications installed.
Click the green Learn More button to view app information and install the application.
