Improve Member Interaction
I would like to be able to post member widgets on member's profile, for example, an achievement widget for people who visit the site often or uploader trophies, baiscaly i want to be able to upload and edit individual member profiles, and add html pics and the like, ITs hard to articulate it, basicaly i want to be able to add data to individual profiles thru html codes. let me know if that is ever implemented. something similar to what crunchyroll does with its members, it gives them insentives to com back and revisit. basicaly if you get a certain number of achievements then i will give members extra space to post data and such. despite the improvements to webs the admin to member interactions are not that great, all we can do is give coments, messages and friendship requests.

Thanks for your suggestions. We are working on the member features. First we want to tackle allowing members to have tabs for Photos, videos, etc. These will show the content the member has posted.
After that we will consider your ideas :)

2I would like our members page to be more interactive like facebook, are there any plans to do this? Also when they post photos they go on our photo page, can they not just go on their profile page? When you look at our web page there is no way to find members how can I make this more interactive and for the genral public to want to join as members? -

1. Go Into Manage Members,
2. Click Profile Questions,
3. Make One Of The Profile Questions Like This:
Question: MySpace
And The Bit That Says Single Line of Text, Change That Into Multiple Lines Of Text. Now, Your Members Have A Box Where They Can Upload And Share Pictures and Emoticons and Stuff, Right On There Member Profile.
Add As Many MySpaces As You Want To! :-D.
NOTE: This All Goes Onto The Info part of You And Your Members's Profiles.
To Edit Your MySpace, And For Your Members To Edit Their MySpace, Just Click Edit Profile On The Sidebar. OR, Go Into The Members App, Click Your Name (If One Of Your Members Wanted To, They Would Click Their name)

2What would be good ,is all of the above ,wee hee .
But what about pages you could add to your site that you could let members manage ,instead of having admins who can admin the whole site,(i would be scared of this ).
A member who you allow through their profile could say for my site ,add a page and ,write a film /game review or article ,that they could then assign to what ever category on your site with out disturbing the rest of the site.
They could do their article and when complete they would assign it to a list of categories that would open up (that i would specify my self in some sort of set up for this)
They would have full access to the site building tools for the pages they can edit.
Another article ,when people sign up to your site and do not complete there profile properly ,they don't show up on your members pages , i have a couple at the moment ,even though they have chosen not to be forth coming they should still be there.
Another thing with members ,Not all members assign a picture to their profile ,in most cases they don't know how to.What if webs had a catalog of profile pictures a new member could choose if he or she were not in the know of uploading their own .
IT would give the member pages a nicer look instead of just plain head silhouettes.
A list could show up with various pictures from animals /flowers/kanji signs or people poses like Martial arts/dance/sporting pictures/film/game and so forth.
I have stopped ranting now ,think about it it would be great.
Considering i try and gain members from my facebook page ,we need to compete.

1well i have deleted someones account and it doesnt take off their memberships to other accounts and the idea of the ip banning tool is that so tossers who abuse your site or its members cannot come back i deleted the account of another site owner and he still has his own site :)

I mean if a Webs.com admin deletes you, you lose all of your sites and subscriptions (account delete from webs.com). But if an admin of a Webs.com site deletes you, you don't lose all of your sites and subscriptions (website profile/member delete)

no you are confusing the issue here to have a profile/membership you must first have an account and to delete a members account which is what we were talking about originally the member in question must have an account on your site or you would not have a member/profile to delete come on surely you can twig on to the original topic made with my suggestion on banning hope this helps you to understand what it was about so you dont get even more confused :)

1yep i suggested that ages ago we need them as soon as possible too to stop members who abuse site rules keep coming back with advertising their sites on our forums without permission or changing their site nicks to match their own site i for one wont allow this so i need to ban the ip of anyone doing this on my site permanently instead of having to keep pressing ignore on pending member requests.

1YES! That is what I need for my site right now! I can't get enough people to come on because they don't have enough incentive to do so! If they got "achievments" they wouldn't stop coming! Also, my website is a clan website (gaming, for those of you who don't know) and I was thinking it would be awesome if I could rank everyone as like a private, corporal, lieutenant, general, you know. If it did that, everyone on the members page would be able to see everyone else's rank!

They need a credits system like fopr my otehr new site at www.exchangedirect.webs.com they have to click some links and earn credits but at the moment we have to do it manually but if when they clciked it it auto adds a credit to there account this would be amazing!!!!

2Yeah, there should be some sort of credits system with a certain ranking order. Like when you have 0-20 posts you get the rank 'Baby' and when you have more than 500 posts you get the highest possible rank of 'God'. Something like that would definately get members to come back more often.

1I'm sorta doing this, but manually. When member's post new content such as posting Video, comment, logging on, signing up, etc. I send them a Trophy with there name's on it and what they accomplished. And they post it on my site! But it gets tiring when you have to do it EVERYDAY! Here is an example on how I do it.

something that would really help is if members can add games to their profile like facebook does, basically members of a site that has an arcade app on their site can search thru the games on the app and add games to the arcade section. and any game that they add would appear on a tab on their profile that said games. also a fave section like the one deviant art has would be kool, members can drag content like games/videos and whathave ya and add them to their profile. same for wish list and so on, give members the ability to interact with the apps installed from their profile, also an costume profile addon would look awesome, where members can add non Java/ script codes to costumize their account. it would make them wana go back and do all sort of things.

This is a great idea, I had the same idea. Me and my admins want to add badges to other peoples profiles, and we have no way to do so, since we cannot edit their profiles. Also, a ban option is greatly needed. If people abuse the rules of my site, I want to be able to ban them for a certain amount of time, not just delete them. -

1Another thing is banning. when a member is removed it would be useful if their name & ip adress are moved onto a banned members list. I know i can use clicky stats to search for a members IP- but as i work too-i can't be on my site all the time & then i have to wade through endless clickyt stats making it sometimes impossible.

I agree, that owners need to be able to view and edit members profiles. Being able to have this option would allow owners to assist members that may be having trouble editing their profiles like uploading photos, etc. Please give this some serious thought. Thank You for all you do!!! -

I run a social network and I'm trying to make sure that people use their real names. So instead of one box saying "Username" how about 3:
Box 1 - First Name
Box 2 - Middle Names (Optional)
Box 3 - Surname
It will also help keep other sites tidy, not just my own social network.
Plus, when someone denies your friend request you should be able to add eachother if you get talking at another date and time. -

excited to see webs add this feature to websID.
When users join your site on webs they should be able to choose colors to design the color of thier page and upload a background and a top image on thier profiles. Like a image that lays on the top of thier webs profile on the website that is some like 960L x 150W should be a good size. If you add this feature a lot more people would probably make websites , more traffic to webs sites, and more people paying to use webs site builder.

It would be a nice idea to let our members be able to customize their profiles. There was a way to do it with CSS but webs later blocked it for some reason or there was a glitch in the system and it was never fixed.
Idea:
Under member options, have a check box to enabled custom profile css codes, (If webs blocked it for whatever reason) This allows the webs user to choose if they want their members customizing their profile.
Also you can have the check box to allow people to customize their profile easily, EX: Checkbox: Allow members to customize profile. If yes, users would then see under their "Edit Profile" Options to set custom background and such.

I am an owner of a guild website and our guild before we started the site had 6 ranks, but the member application only allows 4. But i was thinking how much it would help to be able to add more ranks and change the names of the ranks also. YOLA has it FORUMMAKER has it, and over 500 website/forum builders has it..but guess what im sure you all know, webs doesnt..its not a major error in webs, so it wouldent sway my decision on leaving so dont worry,but i would realy like it if you could respond to this post and consider this for your webiste.

I am sure this is on the works with Webs... but what we really need to improve is the members app by adding a members home page. Just like Facebook you can have a page that shows all of your friends activities, status updates, posted links, videos ect... everyone has this like Myspace and Facebook it's about time Webs added this feature.. So will this ever happen on Webs? I just feel like my website is out dated and this would already help alot.

Applications like facebook where you have to accept to play them.
Games lie facebook e.g yoville
Music page abit like the videos and photos apps but with music.
Members get there own space on sites e.g webspace depending on if the siteowner allows this and if we have enough webspace on our webs accounts to cover it.
Also, I am planning to build the biggest social network on webs and where everyone can communicate with each other the site can be found at www.socialdirect.webs.com.
Please post all ideas here so webs can add them.

Member Rankings! Rank your members by game scores, or comment popularity. Can we get one of these? I know it would do great for gaming clans and ect. by doing this you can see how popular your comments are or how high a level you are on a game. The idea will allow people coming to look at the site to determine who might be the best experienced and more likely to give the correct answer to a question

I am very particular about the appearance and professional feel of my website. I realize that it can be hard to accomplish when you allow others to post blogs and add their profiles on there also. One thing that has really been getting under my skin is when people join our website, and don't post their pictures, it leaves your gray and white default picture. It looks so unprofessional to me. But I wanted to suggest that you would give us the option to set our own default picture for our websites for the members who don't yet have a picture up. That would look so much better! I don't know if you are familiar with spruz.com, but they give you that option. For an example please take a quick look at the front page of my website: www.wsgalore.spruz.com - and you will see how I was able to select my own default picture for my members.
I usually give people time to take care of it-and if they don't; I just delete their profile. I do not want to continue to this, I want to continue to build my network of people all across the globe. I realize, that some people don't know how to upload their picture (which I really don't get, because it is quite easy, or they just don't have a headshot available at that time)
I hope that this feature will be one that you can consider and add for other web designers to enjoy.

Talking about social networking and growing my site, I just want to be able to have link parties and get people more engaged on my blog (members and others).
It is so hard trying to compete in the crafting world as there are so many good blogs out there.
I need to be able to get people coming to the site and then returning and they will do this if they can gain something themselves, like being able to show links to their blogs on my blog.
Mr Linky (www.mrlinky.net) has a cool widget and this is what I want to use but can't because the blog won't accept the code. -

What if members could have there own photo galery aside from the sites? It could be a tab on the profiles. See i want my members when they win my contests to win a sticker to put in a collection but idk how they could have their own collection on there profile.

I would first like to thank webs for providing all these stuffs and would ask to bring out some more options.
Will members and website owners get more...from webs?
1.Members must be given themes for their profile, which can be changed. (Instead of same site's theme) like in http://www.orkut.com
2.They must be able to share videos and tag on their photos and even sharing some wishes through HTML etc.
3. Site owners must have option of members awards. That means if a members invites 20 of his friends and 10 joins the site then another member joins 9 members, the owner must select the 1st member as member of the week and such members must be provided with extra space or an award like new theme for their profile etc. will turn into a most interesting and innovative development.
4. Baning abuse members: Site Builder must have IP baning tools as my friends described in their idea. (Refer http://support.webs.com/webs/topics/i...)
I hope webs will provide them soon.

People who want to register with my site have to submit personal details that are irrelevant to my business; for example, gender and location. Also, the social aspect (friends, recent activity, ability to browse members) is not needed and will confuse and put-off my customers. PLEASE give me the option to remove these!

I love how with the members they can have their own profile and inbox and friends, but I want to know if there is any more you can add? I have a website like a minature facebook, and was wondering if there was anything cool you could add to member profiles to make it cooler so people stay on my site. Look around facebook, twitter, my space and google+. i sort of want a mix of all those things put into a member profile. Some people who have sites might not want that for their member things, so maybe have two separate member apps. One for site subscription or whatever and one that is more of a communication one. It would be an awesome idea, and if it works, I'm sure heaps of people would love it!

A members Profile page would be greatly enhanced if the ability to add embedded files was allowed. Example: currently members are not allowed to use the EMBED tag to update their ABOUT ME box for their profiles. This means FLASH and certain music players won't work. If allowed this would let them customize their Profile page using other than plain-jane HTML. Alternatively if a member editable "Content Box", which allows the EMBED tag, could be added to member Profile pages this would eliminate the need to alter the code for the ABOUT ME section. Just a thought :)

Excuse me, but I think the Members area COULD use a bit of a polish! for example. I'd like to see webs sites be able to create groups, and have a link list to there own sites, or there favourite sites. I just think the Members area is... A touch empty. That's all. I'd like to see my members join... leagues, or make promote there site(s) from my site. I just don't think the members area is engaging enough.
