Getting your site to show up in Google and other search engines can be more difficult than just adding tags to your site.
The problem is that Google takes a while to locate and index the site. It can be weeks or even months to get this to happen.
The best way to speed up this process is by getting other sites to link to your site. When Google bots crawl those sites, they will find the link coming into your own, and will index your site that way.
Since we don't control Google, we cannot speed up this process for you, unfortunately.
Please do note that many sites hosted by Webs do very well in Google results. If your site is not doing well, the problem is not because it's hosted by Webs. The problem is more likely that the site is new, there are no inbound links from other sites, or the text is not optimized for the search terms you want.

Please note, you only need to post your site ONCE. It can take Google a while to update their listings, and they make no guarantees about when your site will show up in the searches.
If you are really serious about getting your site showing up in Google fast, you might consider purchasing placement through their Adwords program. If you upgrade to a Webs premium package, you get Google Adwords credit that you can use to try out the program and see how it works for you.

It doesn't matter whether you have your own domain or not. All my "freewebs"/"webs" domain named sites google has taken, no problem. It's more a question of trust by google - if your site is set up correctly and trust is also earned with links too!- view 3 more comments

Yes it takes too much time to index your site and you should do a good SEO for indexing your site in good positions,Yours article content should be good and unique,choose those keywords which are popular.You should use social bookmarking site to increase your website traffic like stumbleupon,delicious and digg etc.then your site in google will be in good positions.

It takes some time - (usually a few months) to get your site found on Google. Mine took about 4 months I think.

Welcome to Webs- all websites are not guaranteed to be in Google. Mine is because i waited up to 3 months! It depends on how well you work on your websites and how you share it with other services such as WOT or Norton or Yahoo, Twitter, Facebook etc. -

i didn't know google takes it's time to show a website on the search results. I've done anything i could to promote my website such as creating a facebook acound for it, creating a blog for my website and submiting my adress to google and yahoo.

You need to make a sitemap.xml, and add it to Google webmaster tools, then you need to ping it http://www.getrank.org/google-ping/

Actually, Google uses several algorithms. One is designed more for personal sites, and is easier to get good ranking with. If your site is on a free host, it can be more likely considered in that personal algorithm. I have had a number of sites do exceptionally well using free hosts. A lot of our users have great search engine ranking. It does take time, and some work.Do your research!

I have this same question. It's been about three months (maybe more) since I submitted my site to Google. When I type in my main phrase from my awesome website (which is www.yourbridgetoidiocy.webs.com, by the way :) ) it comes up with all my friend's sites publicizing it for me, all the comments I've made on other sites, etc, but it still doesn't include my site. There are six sites that have linked to mine, and it's been a few months since they put the address up on their links page, but the Google bots as you called them still won't come!! Is there a problem with my site or is Google just slow?-
What a waste of money to have paid for what we thought was a domain/website from these scam artists!

So my site shows up on google and it's awesome!
However, when you click on the link supplied by google it goes to a video posted by a user. Why is this? Is there a setting to change it?
More info: My site is ampracingcreations.webs.com. When you search for "amp racing creations" it shows up, but when you click on it it brings you to the video, not the home page. Please help! -

1We also managed to get our site up relatively quickly. The best advice I could give is submit to all search engines regularly. By that I mean at least once every 2 months or so. Investing in a good SEO is worth your money spent as we got listed very quickly in google search. Backlinks are one of the most important things to do for your site. Submit original material and get involved with a blog or a forum with high page ranked sites.
Getting the Webmaster's tools on Google is pretty important. I have to admit that I was pretty bamboozled by the whole thing when I first signed up for it. Verification of your website is a pretty important thing. It allows you to upload sitemaps which crawlers go through and help to list your site. I am not too sure about robots.txt as our site was doing pretty well without it. We did encounter a drop in rankings initially when we uploaded robots.txt but I think the reason is due to our incorrect coding for the crawlers.I am still waiting to see what would happen next.
Content of your site is also very important. Make all your pages relavant to what your keywords are aiming at and try to word your titles as accurately as possible without sounding like spam. Search engines like Google tend to pick this up relatively quickly and this could throw you back in the sandbox faster than you can blink.
We are still in the process of completing and uploading our site. There are still a few things we would like to put in place to increase our rankings but most of these features need to be supported by php which Webs does not have at this stage.
We could probably use some ideas and reviews on how we are doing so far on our site. www.rockandmineralsupermarketaustrali... I'd appreciate any feedback or ideas for our site.

I have had my website since 2008, put it into google etc several times and it still wont show up in google search .... it wont even show up in freewebs search engine !!!
I have normal freewebs address, also two other domain address' and none show up ..... I get regular hits etc

My site has been active for about 4 months. If I type in the my name, which forms an integral part of the site, there is no mention in Google; the site simply cannot be traced irrespective of key words; even when those key words are singularly unique. The only way to reveal the site is to type in the EXACT url; now what good is that if you’re trying to promote your site? Why is this? If Webs.com has tricked us into creating sites and then having to pay them for SEO, then they are devious to say the least.

thats not accurate info. I have had several websites and they all have shown up in google almost immediately. if your site isnt showing up in google its because webs.com isnt recognized by google or is not a very popular well known websource

Thanks for contacting us. Once you've been provided with your HTML code from Google, you'll simply need to paste it into the Google Webmaster Tools section of your Website Settings section.
Log into your account
Click on the "Control Panel"
Click on the "Website Settings"
Scroll down and paste your code in the "Google Webmaster Tools" section then save your change.

Although hidden pages are not shown within the NavBar, search engines are still able to view them. Your SEO standings have not been affected by any of your pages being hidden. That feature simply hides pages from plain slight, however they're still accessible on the net with the direct link. -
